The “Trois Couronnes” Bed & Breakfast is in La Salle, a cozy and quiet town at 1000 MASL, at the base of the Mont Blanc and on the famous Wine Route of the Aosta Valley in northern Italy. Nearby you will find popular ski stations such as Courmayeus (13 Km), La Thuile (17 Km) and Pila (26 Km), as well as spa towns such as Pre St. Didier (5 Km), which is only 15 Km away from the Mont Blanc tunnel and 30 Km away from Chamonix (France).
“Trois Couronnes” is in a peaceful location, almost 2 minutes away from the center of La Salle, a town with plenty of restaurants, bars, a grocery store, a pharmacy, a pastry shop, and a newsstand. Downtown you can also visit the Church of San Cassiano and the Maison Gerbollie, a beautiful 11th Century building that currently serves as the town hall and post office and is the starting point of most hiking expeditions.
There are numerous leisure activities to be enjoyed in this breath-taking environment: downhill and cross-country skiing, guided hiking treks, horseback riding, tennis, swimming, mountain climbing, kayaking and rafting. Another perk is that La Salle is easily accessible: the train station is 1 Km away from the city center and the highway is only 2 Km away.
Faithfulness to tradition and the surrounding landscape is a part of our identity. The old house of “Trois Couronnes”, which dates back to the 15th Century, has recently been restored and refurbished, conserving and bringing to light the traditional details of the classic mountain chalet, further accentuating the building’s beauty and the spectacular landscape of the Mont Blanc. In the summertime, our garden offers a unique setting for you to relax and connect with nature.
The name “Trois Couronnes” comes from a fresco on the facade of the house which represents a black Madonna with three crowns seated between St. John the Baptist and St. Peter. It is thought that the building previously housed pilgrims who arrived from France by way of the old Gallie route to adore the Black Madonna of Oropa.
